PROJECT 2

UI/UX Design Document

After finalizing the app concept and development ideas in the previous Project 1, we have been instructed to proceed with UX design. We are required to create a comprehensive UX design document that will provide clear guidance for app design.

The outline of the document should include:

Introduction:
Start the UX design document with an introduction that explains the purpose and scope of the document, the target audience, and the problem the app is intended to solve.

User Research:
Provide a detailed description of the user research that has been conducted. These could include user persona and user journey map. Explain how the research informed the design decisions.

Information Architecture:
Outline the content elements of the App and how they will be organized to achieve the optimum information architecture. Explain the card sorting method that was used and how it helped to organize the content.

MVP (Minimum Viable Product) Features:
List the App features and identify the minimum viable product (MVP) that will be developed.

1. Develop Survey Questions

After completing the first project and presenting our idea, we have now been instructed to design a set of questions for user research, which will be proposed in Week 5. For this task, I have chosen to employ a survey questionnaire as the research method. The survey will help us gather a large number of valuable insights and feedback from participants, enabling me to gain a deeper understanding of their preferences and experiences with airline applications.

2. Card Sorting

The card sorting is done with an online tool, Optimal Workshop with a total of 7 respondents participating to sort the cards into the categories provided. The researcher would create the sets of cards and categories beforehand before sending the link to the participants.

FEEDBACK

29.9.2023- Week 5 (Questionnaire)

  • You can add a question asking about the respondent's nationality.
  • Please ensure that you provide a maximum of five options for each question.
  • When presenting options for each question, try not to place the most popular choices first. Arrange or shuffle them in the middle or at the end so that readers will carefully read all the given options.
  • Keep the wording of each option concise, avoid making them too long, as it may be challenging for respondents to read.
  • For question 11, try to determine how users complain in app store reviews and use that information to develop options for the question.
  • Create a question to ask whether respondents use mobile or desktop more for air travel purposes.

6.10.2023- Week 6 (Questionnaire)

  • Good job! The questions you created for the survey are clear and comprehensive.
  • For question number 4, you can remove the phrase "if you are Malaysian" and simply ask, "What is your race?" This way, even respondents from other countries can indicate their race, which will be helpful for data analysis.
  • In the last section, remember to clarify the likert scale, explaining what 1 and 5 represent.
  • Consider phrasing the questions in the last section as statements for respondents to agree or disagree with, this will make it clearer for them to understand.
  • Try arranging the options from short to long sentences or the other way around for a more comfortable reading experience.

27.10.2023- Week 9 (UI/UX document)

  • For the data analysis of the survey, you don't need to analyse everything. You can summarize the findings in each section, or if you've already done so, provide quick links in your slides to view the detailed data analysis.
  • For the card sorting results, you can take screenshots and include them in your slides. You may want to choose the standardization grid as it provides a comprehensive summary of both card and category sorting results.
  • Your MVP is well-structured, you can decide whether to include the third MVP. If you think it's not necessary, two MVP will be enough.
