Ask ChatGPT the following questions:

1.What is colour correction?
Colour correction is the process of adjusting colors in video and images to achieve accuracy and consistency by correcting technical issues like color imbalances, white balance, and exposure problems.

2.What is colour grading?
Colour grading is the artistic process of enhancing or altering colors in video and images to achieve a specific visual style or mood, making creative adjustments to evoke emotions and set a particular atmosphere.

3.What is the differences between colour correction and colour grading?
Colour correction focuses on technical adjustments to achieve accurate and balanced colors, ensuring consistency throughout the project. On the other hand, colour grading involves creative adjustments to establish a unique visual style and set the mood for individual scenes or the entire video.

4.Are both colour correction and colour grading necessary while editing video? Or just do one of them?
Both color correction and color grading are necessary in professional video editing. Colour correction ensures technical accuracy and consistency, while colour grading adds an artistic touch, enhancing visual appeal and storytelling to create a polished and captivating final product.

Colour Correction Exercise in Premiere Pro

WEEK 8

Understanding of TikTok

TikTok, a popular social media platform among Gen Z, allows users to create and share short-form videos on various topics. While I haven't personally used the app before due to its distracting and addictive nature, while only until now this project has revealed its significant impact on popular culture for me. With its algorithm-driven content feed and creative trends, TikTok has turned ordinary individuals into overnight internet sensations and fostered a sense of community among diverse groups. However, it's essential to approach the platform mindfully, as excessive usage can lead to increased screen time and potential negative effects on productivity and mental well-being. Despite its drawbacks, TikTok remains an influential and engaging space for creative expression and social interactions.

WEEK 9

Selecting Animating Shorts

During our practical class, we were instructed to watch stop motion shorts, and shortlist our favorites 3. We're required to explain why we chose them (art direction, character design, style, etc.)

Shot 1: Under The Winter Sun

This stop motion, however, uses mixed media. It's interesting how it uses different materials to create the backdrop, to make it realistic, while the clay is used to make the animation for the main subjects. I also like the lighting of this stop motion, it fits the ambience and style that this whole short film is going for. Everything was smooth and blended well together with a storyline and message behind it.

Shot 2: Fruit and Vegetables

After watching this video "Stop Motion Animated Fruits and Vegetables" by Clem Stamation, I think stop motion animation is really amazing and cool which can impress the audience. As me, from my perspective, before watching this video, I never knew these simple ingredients could create such fun and memorable ideas. It's arguably simple, but it provides an organic feel that indirectly makes the video unique.

Shot 3: Inside The Burger Vending Machine

Tomosteen's video "Inside The Burger Vending Machine - Stop Motion Cooking" features Mr. Bone as a "worker" in a burger vending machine, making mini burgers. Mr. Bones' fictional cooking process is so real and decompressing!

Stop Motion Shooting test

During week 9, we arrived at the studio to have shooting exercises before beginning our stop motion project. We were required to try shooting with two mediums: one with a DSLR camera and the other with a phone using stop motion apps.
